Mentoring Bachelor Computer Science
How do I become a student mentor?
If you're looking for an interesting non-technical elective for the upcoming winter semester—or, alternatively, a small student assistant position where you can help others while improving your leadership, presentation, and communication skills—then the Computer Science Mentoring Program is the perfect fit for you.
Our tip
We keep a waiting and succession list. It is also worth contacting us by e-mail outside the application deadline.
You should fulfill the following requirements:
- You are studying computer science (Bachelor, teaching degree, MTIK) from the 3rd semester and have a very good knowledge of written and spoken German.
- You can take part in the mentor training course on 01.09. and 02.09.2026 .
- You have the desire and time to familiarize yourself appropriately with topics that are important for first-year students and to work on these topics in a weekly group meeting with your student group.
- Your own study schedule allows you to take part in a mentor briefing of approx. once 2 hours pro Woche an einem MentorInnen-Briefing von ca. 2 Stunden teilzunehmen, in dem wir euch auf den Gruppentermin vorbereiten.
- You have an open and friendly manner and look forward to making the start of studies easier for first semester students.

- a short curriculum vitae in tabular form,
- A few sentences about your motivation for wanting to work as a mentor,
- indicating whether you are interested in the NTW or a Hiwi job.
After receiving the e-mail, we will invite you to an interview where we can discuss further details and any questions you may have.
