How do I become a student mentor?

If you are looking for an interesting non-technical elective subject for the coming winter semester or alternatively for a small student assistant job (6 hours per week for 5 months) where you can get involved with others and improve your leadership, presentation and communication skills at the same time, then Computer Science Mentoring is the right place for you.

Write Email

You should fulfill the following requirements:

  • You are studying computer science (Bachelor, teaching degree, MTIK) from the 3rd semester and have a very good knowledge of written and spoken German.
  • You can take part in the mentor training course on 02.-03.09.2025 .
  • You have the desire and time to familiarize yourself appropriately with topics that are important for first-year students and to work on these topics in a weekly group meeting with your student group.
  • Your own study schedule allows you to take part in a mentor briefing of approx. once 2 hours a week (optionally on Tuesdays and Wednesdays), in which we prepare you for the group meeting.
  • You have an open and friendly manner and look forward to making the start of studies easier for first semester students.
