Mentoring Computer Science
Computer Science Mentoring was developed as part of the RWTH-wide Future Concept for Excellent Teaching initiative to improve study conditions in cooperation between the Computer Science department and the student council. Our offer extends and supplements the services of the student advisory service and the student council by providing personal, individual support throughout your studies.
In a nutshell
We support our computer science students throughout their entire Bachelor's degree program. A particular focus is on our first/second semester program. Our aim is to make it easier for our first-year students to start their studies and to help them quickly and competently if they have any problems. To this end, students receive intensive support during the first two semesters in weekly group meetings and learning workshops in order to develop their study skills. Throughout the Bachelor's degree course, students can take advantage of counseling sessions with a view to their entire study and life situation.

In addition to individual advising, we support students with target group-specific and needs-oriented measures, including with regard to students with learning and success deficits, particularly successful students (promotion of the best) and women in computer science.
Our offer includes IT tours to IT companies in the region, themed workshops and information services. Our offer is continuously being developed.
